For all of you newbloods out there, skill balances actually make the game more interesting.

Huge skill rebalances, especially ones that fundamentally change a meta (LoD to WoH comes to mind) normally make the game more interesting.

The fact that you'd all prefer to sit around eating Snickers bars and farming chocolate bunnies instead of playing a more dynamic game is worrisome.

Surely grouping shit together and pressing 1 to blow up the screen must get boring after some time?

Actually they do, it's just that you think they don't. Just a matter of understanding what's been said.

But you have to admit, 2 whole month for an update, it's only natural that people want good update.

Well the real frustrating thing is that more than 150 employees are working on GW2 ('the best mmo ever'), which is still years away, burning tons of cash a week. In the meantime, a handful of people try to do their best to give us the playerbase some features in GW1, their only product so far which still sells copies.

Must be frustrating for the live team too.

I think Anet no longer stands for 'developped by gamers for gamers', but for 'developped by gamecompany/publisher for gamers'.

Where are the days we all loved baby Anet, even if it wet its pants?

The way to go would have been:
- Reward points first week of the month through a bug free Xunlai system (satisfy PvP/PvE crowd)
- Skill balance update on time. (satisfy PvP crowd)
- Big April update in the second week of April. (satisfy PvE crowd)

As for Regina...Being the messenger of bad news is never a fun thing to do.

this

all storage/hom updates really do, is allow you to do the exact same pve farming that you've been doin hours a day for the past couple of months, except just more efficiently.

Large updates like the one later this month takes a LARGE amount of man-hours, And a lot of people don't understand that.
the "april update" was actually announced in january or february iirc. thats 3 or 4 months of development time. we got a february skills update right? a march skills update right? so why no april skills update? one can assume that they are behind schedule and now rushing to meet that deadline.

but afaik, izzy is gone and they don't even have a proper dedicated skill balancer anymore.

Must be fun being so secretive.

Anet continues to walk the fine line between completely shutting out their fans and playing a keen hiding game. You're seriously hiding a date for an update you announced 4 months ago that we all know is coming?

Seriously?

As long as I get my free prediction rewards and strong PvE updates, I don't really care what else they do or don't do

Once again, you said it better than I ever could.

I don't care about Storage updates. I care about SKILL BALANCES. Meta change, you know? How long will that Storage update keep people playing? A week? A day?

Skill updates make people return for much, much longer, and usually take less work than changing game's code to make storage better.

Skill change/balance is all I really care about anymore. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't farm, grind and/or perform runs, this update coming up will be completely one big letdown.

May sounds like a great month already.

Ask yourself: Between watching an elite skill get buried six feet under versus adding more storage for everyone, which one is more likely to be still on player's mind next month?

Uh huh.....Okay. Yeah, sure. Oh, yeah.... Uhm...

So, because two people are working on an update that will increase the size of storage and make HoM account-wide (something that has been asked for since the start of EotN), PvPers have to continue suffering? Am I correct?

I, and many other PvPers, were hoping to have LC, PnH, Mirror of Ice, FF+Plague Sending, Warriors Endurance, etc. either nerfed or balanced. But, since storage and account-wide HoM's are so desperately needed to keep the game balanced and thriving, we won't be seeing it for at least another month.

I wonder how much testing it takes to look on the forums and pick out the most reasonably-sounding suggestion to nerf/balance an imbalanced/overpowered skill suggested by the people who play this game religiously.

And besides, this is the PvE community you are targetting. This is how it will go after they get what they wanted:

Day of the big update: "OMG, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, ANET, I WANT YOUR BABIES!!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3"

One week after the update: "Oh boy, I'm so glad I have all this storage to put my pretty armor in. And this improved HoM is simply amazing!"

two weeks, 3 days after the update: "Oh dear, it seems like I have too much stuff yet again, and nowhere to put it all. Oh well.... I guess I can sell something to make room... *sigh* Have nothing better to do now that my HoM is done...."

3 weeks after update: "Hey, Anet, can we have some more weapons/armor/skills for my ongoing PvE experience? No? Oh, then FFFFFF UUUUU!!!!! You never give us anything!! You degenerate bastards, DIEEEE!!! I WANT MOARRRRR!!"

Yeah.

If this big update happens to show up tomorrow, then I want someone, anyone, to start "testing" the new skill updates and have them done the week after.

This differs from the PvP community how?

Once something in PvP is balanced, the state of the game is slightly more balanced. PvP has, unfortunately, seen the ugly side of Anet's attention. But, when something is addressed, we respond accordingly and either chalk it up as a step forward or a step backward. Then we leave it alone, and keep playing.

PvE, on the other hand, keeps seeing alot of nice additions, but always seems to need more.

Great news. I shall have more than enough time to farm the Armbraces I need for HoM.

Meh, the only reason I look forward to updates is the skill changes. I love it when a skill gets a small or a huge change. It's why I still play the game. Bah! Guess I'll have to wait another month.
